According to the latest findings, the number of animal species that went extinct as a result of a squandering human activity since the rise of industrial society is so enormously high it is possible to speak of a sixth mass extinction of species already underway and running in full speed.
Recently, I was reflecting about current situation of our beautiful planet, browsing through some terrible pictures and worrying news from 2014, and I could not help but go sensitive and scribble a few words – my wishes for the upcoming year.
So, my wish for 2015 is…
Have you ever thought who are going to inhabit the Earth after we’re gone? Who are going to inherit the planet with all of its environmental problems that are becoming more and more apparent, until tomorrow there will be no way back?
These kids did. They are raising concerns for their future, on this planet. The future that is influenced by OUR actions today. Just like generations of our ancestors did not care enough to think that after them the planet is going to be inherited by their descendants, many people today do not seem to think that only through sustainable planning of our actions today we can guarantee that our children and grandchildren will not cuss every time they think of us, tomorrow.
A new documentary called Saving My Tomorrow, starring a group of young kids who are trying to improve the situation by helping the environment and literally, save their tomorrow, along with stars such as Alan Cumming, Susan Saradon, and Jeffrey Wright, premieres Monday, December 15 at 7PM, only on HBO..
If only more grown-ups today were as advanced in their awareness as these kids.
